In the café we serve coffee by River Coffee – an independent roasters based in Winchester. At River Coffee, Will and his team source their beans directly from the coffee farmers ensuring they are paid well for the work they do. Not only are the beans skilfully roasted, we love how they are delivered weekly to us in zero waste tubs and a tree is planted for every order placed. We reckon it’s the best coffee around and we have really enjoyed working with the River Coffee team since 2018.

The milk we use in our coffee is locally sourced from Michelmersh Manor Farm. We now have one of their fresh milk vending machines in our car park where customers can buy their milk in 1 litre glass, reusable bottles.

Under the supervision of Salt’s head-chef Lisa, the café menu changes according to the seasons and we enjoy creating dishes that you can both eat in or take away. On the menu for breakfast you’ll find a Full English, Bacon Butty or Homemade Cinnamon Muesli with Yoghurt. Lunch includes seasonal salads, soup, tarts and toasties. We pride ourselves on using good quality ingredients from local suppliers where possible including free range meat and pork pies from local butchery Hoggett & Boar, sourdough from Hoxton’s Bakehouse and tomatoes from the Isle of Wight. We like to vary things with items you’ll find on our Daily Specials Board so keep your eyes peeled.

Kids are also catered for with Mini Cheese Toasties, or a Poached Egg on Toast whilst toasted teacakes and homemade scones make the perfect post school treat.
